The Growth Coach Business Coaching Story
Brad Schneider is carrying The Growth Coach's vision forward as one of the top ranked business coaching franchise opportunities in the country.

Brad Schneider's path to The Growth Coach started the way most people's do. He was working in HR, good at his job, spending his days helping people solve problems and figure out how to work better together. Somewhere in that work he started asking himself a question a lot of people ask but few actually act on: what would it look like to take these same skills and use them to help people in his own community, on his own terms.
He became a Growth Coach in 2015, and he's spent the years since building his own thriving coaching practice, working directly with business owners and leaders across his territory in Central Ohio. Session by session, he's helped them face reality about where their business actually stands, get clear on where they want it to go, and do the hard work of getting there.
Dan Murphy watched Brad's practice grow and recognized something in him that went beyond running a good business. Brad understood why the model worked. He'd lived the philosophy in his own life, and it showed in the way he coached and talked about the work. Brad led The Growth Coach as COO and President starting in 2023, and in April of 2026, he became owner of the company.
For Brad, coaching was never just a business. It's a passion that grew out of the work and the people he'd spent his career with, and what hasn't changed since his first day as a coach is a simple belief: every business owner deserves someone in their corner who will tell them the truth, hold them accountable, and help them build something that lasts.
That belief still shows up in how Brad lives. He has the balance he set out looking for all those years ago. He's built real relationships across his community, and when a business owner or leader needs someone to talk to, Brad is who they call. As owner and president, he's focused on carrying that same philosophy forward, for every coach and every client across the entire Growth Coach network.
That's the business. A life where the work you do actually matters to the people around you, and where you get to build it on your own terms.
The Growth Coach's concept started in 1992 with a simple observation: business owners were drowning in the businesses they'd built. They weren't short on hard work. They were short on someone in their corner who would tell them the truth and hold them accountable to it.
That became the mission. Coaching, built around relationships, conversations and accountability, for the people actually doing the work every day.
"I was managing my business," founder Dan Murphy remembers hearing from owner after owner, "now my business is managing me."
That single sentence became the reason The Growth Coach exists.

Individual business coach franchises exist, Dan notes, but they still struggle with that “first mistake” of overcoming the limitations of too few hours and too many clients for one-on-one coaching. These competing concepts still fail to adequately address the need for group coaching. More than 25 years and 64 territories later, The Growth Coach is the largest franchise provider of group coaching services, and our business coaches have helped thousands of small business owners, managers and sales teams to reach new successes while providing entrepreneurs with a spirit to serve an affordable business opportunity.
